Aquaza has been successfully tested on strawberries in the Western Cape. 

The 2 x Control blocks, each 1.75 hectares, received continuous irrigation with regular 50% H2O2 at 50 ppm or 50 ml per m3.

The 2 x Aquaza test blocks, each 1.75 hectares, received continuous irrigation with Aquaza 30% H2O2 at 50 ppm.

Flowering and fruiting figures are from a control and test section each containing 750 strawberry plants.

AQUAZA TREATMENT:

Over and above the basic treatment of irrigation water, Aquaza brings unique advantages to Agriculture that other oxygen delivery systems do not. It is economical, no special equipment is necessary for application and most importantly, any Hydrogen peroxide not released and consumed in the basic water treatment remains stable in the irrigation water and is not wasted.


By dosing more Aquaza than is strictly necessary to control the Oxygen Demand of the water, Aquaza will provide oxygen to perform 5 important extra tasks as it travels through the irrigation system, into the soil and into the plant:
1.) Biofilm Control - continuous dosing of Aquaza in the irrigation water will remove and prevent re-growth of Biofilm in the irrigation system. This removal of organic blockages from the spray or drip nozzles results in even irrigation from all sprays or drips and thus a more uniform crop.

2.) Soil Remediation - as the irrigation water comes into contact with the soil, the BOD present in the soil is neutralized and the soil environment changes from anaerobic to aerobic, eliminating pathogens which damage roots.

3.) Root Oxygen - more oxygen to the root environment means that the good micro-organisms are better able to digest nutrients and pass them onto the roots, resulting in increase growth and fruiting.

4.) Plant Sterilisation - once the BOD of the soil is neutralised, the remaining oxygen in the irrigation water is absorbed by the plant through the roots in drip irrigation and through the leaves and stem in spray irrigation. This takes the plant from an anaerobic state to an aerobic state, eliminating anaerobic plant pathogens such as Phytophthora, Botrytis & Downey Mildew etc.

5.) Oxygen for Growth - the increased oxygen available to the plant cleans out its vascular system, increasing the plant's ability to take up water, as well as allowing it to utilise its nutrients far more effectively. This results in healthier, stronger and faster growing plants that are far more resistant to disease than normal.
